About Traxx Siberian Huskies

We Couldn't Stop with one Siberian Husky...

Silver was not show quality and although Tami tried to show him, he did not have proper conformation, nor the correct temperament for a Siberian Husky. He was destined to be just our loving companion, but.. Oh, what he taught us!

They...

  • DIG,
  • ESCAPE,
  • TALK,
  • are CLOWNS,
  • and SHED!!!

What a sense of humor one needs to love this breed! A good vacuum doesn't hurt, either...

The "dog show bug" bit, and Tami really missed showing horses. It was natural to get involved in the sport of showing dogs. It didn't take long to realize that you can't own just one Siberian Husky! Tami realized that if she was going to show, she needed to buy a "show dog". "Dion", Tami's first show dog was purchased in early 1993 from Olympus Siberians, James and Linda VanCleve, St. Petersburg, FL. Linda was one of the first people we met at those first meetings of the Siberian Husky Club of Tampa Bay, Inc. Many weekends she tagged along with Linda - learning to groom, learning about points, and classes, and leads... Later that year, she purchased "Gwennie" from Veleah Siberians, Reg., H. Levell Leahy, Archer, FL.

Silver crossed the Rainbow Bridge way too young - at the tender age of 3 years old. Tami had been on a family vacation to Disney World, and a family friend was dog-sitting. Although he was warned not to leave Silver alone in the yard, he managed to dig out in only five minutes and was hit by a motorcycle. From then on, Tami realized that diligent supervision is the only way to rein in these "Houdini's".

Dion received his AKC Canine Good Citizen (CGC) title at 18 months of age. Tami showed him for a while at World Wide Kennel Club (WWKC) dog shows where he earned 4 points. Dion was awarded a few Reserve Winners Dog ribbons at AKC shows, but unfortunately her never earned any AKC points towards his championship. He has warmed our hearts and our feet through the years. Gwennie, their first brood bitch, was bred twice. Once to Veleah's Cadence of Mileka (Mileka Siberians, Sally O'Connell, Gainesville, FL), and the second time to Veleah's Mufasa (Veleah Siberians, Reg.). Unfortunately, Gwennie did not provide the foundation stock Tami had so hoped for. Fortunately, all the puppies live in loving pet homes.

Success Finally in the Dog Show Ring

Their next Siberian Husky came from Vel Leahy, also, in April of 1999. " Cinder" proved to be THE dog of firsts! She won the first Best Puppy in Match, first purple ribbon (and those previously elusive points), first Best of Winners, first Best of Opposite, and first Best of Breed from the classes. Tami was truly blessed to have gotten her, or she might not have continued exhibiting! Cinder is now retired to the couch.
