Traxx Siberian Huskies Policies For Adult Dogs and Puppies For Sale

At Traxx Siberians, we are very dedicated "grandparents" and are committed to providing healthy, loving companions and occasionally show prospects to equally loving homes who are willing to make the same commitment for THE LIFE OF THE DOG, as we are!

If you are not willing to make this kind of commitment, please look elsewhere.

Here are the highlights of our contract:

All breeding stock is checked clear of hereditary eye defects by an ACVO certified veterinarian and either SHOR and/or CERF registered. All breeding stock is also x-rayed and OFA certified free of hip dysplasia and rated either "good" or "excellent." We do NOT use "fair", unchecked, or failed animals in our breeding program. We adhere to this policy VERY strictly, as we only wish to provide the healthiest animals possible for show and as pets. Pet puppies come with a replacement guarantee should the dog be diagnosed by an ACVO veterinarian as having any of the following hereditary defects: juvenile cataracts, PRA, corneal dystrophy, OR effected by hip dysplasia as diagnosed by an x-ray and verified by the Orthopedic Foundation of America as dysplastic.

Show prospect/breeding stock puppies come with a replacement guarantee should the dog be diagnosed as having a hereditary eye defect or hip dysplasia, or if it becomes unsuitable for show or breeding because of other hereditary defects. Eye and hip checks must be completed by 30 months of age. All pet puppies are either spayed/neutered before going to their new homes, or are sold on a spay/neuter contract requiring the dog be altered by one year of age. They can only be registered with AKC on a LIMITED registration.

Pet puppies are generally priced at $400. Show prospect puppies are generally priced at $650. Anyone interested in buying a show prospect is expected and required to seriously show the dog. We ask for a $100 deposit to reserve a puppy, and buyers make their choices in the order they paid the deposit. The deposit applies to the total purchase price. It is non-refundable should the buyer change his/her mind. In the event that we do not have a pet puppy meeting your needs available, it will be fully refunded. The difference between a show prospect and pet puppy is usually something cosmetic such as: a too tightly curled tail, a bite that is slightly off, or (in males) an undescended testicle. These puppies are healthy, happy, and of sound temperaments and make wonderful loving companions.

Puppies are not released to their new homes before 9 weeks. They will have been wormed several times and have had at least 2 shots. They are accompanied with a health certificate, copies of all genetic screenings of their parents, a 4-generation pedigree, and their AKC registration papers. Registration papers are only held if the buyer makes payment with a personal check, in which case we hold the paper until the check clears their bank (up to 10 days). We require that the puppy be taken to a veterinarian for a checkup within 72 hours of arrival at their new homes.

We are very proud of the owners of the puppies we have bred to date. They understand that we want to be kept up to date (pictures are mostly coveted!) as to the dog's progress throughout it's life.

We NEVER want any of our puppies to end up in an animal shelter, nor be a burden to rescue groups. While we insist that all potential buyers make this commitment FOR LIFE, we also know that life can sometimes deal us unexpected circumstances. Therefore, we offer a "lifetime" take back guarantee. We will assist the buyer with re-homing the animal, or if a new home cannot be found in a reasonable amount time, we will take the dog back into our home until a suitable home can be found. We require names, addresses, phone numbers, etc. and continued contact with any "new" home for the life of the animal. Partially for this reason, we occasionally (but rarely) have adult animals available.
